Classic Vanilla Matcha Latte
16oz , Iced
Items you'll need:
-Quality Japanese Matcha Powder (1 tsp)
-Hot Water (5 oz): 1 oz to start, then 4 oz more
-French Vanilla Syrup
-4 oz milk of your choice
-Bowl to whisk matcha in
-Handled tea strainer
-16 oz iced glass
-Ice
Whisk quality Japanese matcha:
First start by scooping 1 teaspoon of matcha & sifting it through a small handled powder sifter into your mixing bowl. This is actually a pretty important step in achieving a clump-free matcha!
Then begin turning the matcha into a thick green paste using a heafty splash
Once it's free of clumps and resembles a green paste, slowly add 4 oz (1/2 cup) hot water little by little
Concoct the Vanilla Matcha Latte!
In an iced tea glass, fill it way to the top with ice, the warm matcha will melt some of the ice so it will balance out to make a perfect 16 oz. I live in Arizona, so I usually overfill it with ice so it stays cold longer
Add 4 oz (1/2 cup) of your choice of milk. *Caution not to go to heavy handed adding milk, especially cow milk, tea has a delicate flavor and is easily overpowered by fats in the milk. If you need more liquid, use more warm water instead
Put in 4 pumps ( 1 oz ) of French Vanilla Syrup
Top the drink with the matcha from earlier! I like to strain it once more as I add it to the drink, just in case the initial whisking didn't get all the sneaky green powder clumps!
Give it a good stir: the vanilla syrup is the heaviest ingredient in this drink so it tends to sink to the bottom
Done! Best Vanilla Matcha you've ever had :)
